FAQs
What is gold filled?
14k Gold filled is a layer of gold that has been bonded to a core, in our case brass, by heat and presser. Because it is bonded it does not rub off like gold plated jewelry. By law gold filled jewelry has to have a minimum 1/20 gold by weight. Gold plated jewelry has much less, usually a microscopic film of gold, thus making it much less valuable and durable than gold filled. Gold filled is tarnish resistant as well. Gold filled is not solid gold however and still need to be cared for properly to maintain that lovely gold layer.
Does your jewelry contain nickel?
No! None of our jewelry contains nickel, lead or cadmium. It is all manufactured in North America. Our silver and solid gold all come from recycled or reclaimed sources.
I lost one earring can I purchase a single one?
Yes of course! The price will be half the amount of the original pair plus applicable taxes and shipping.

Will my jewelry tarnish?
The short answer is yes. Most all metals tarnish or become dirty eventually. Our Argentium silver, gold filled, and solid gold jewelry takes a longer time to tarnish than our sterling silver jewelry. How you wear and store your jewelry greatly affects the time jewelry takes to tarnish. Some of our designs, such as our bar studs and micro dot studs have a small amount of exposed brass at the ends, from where the metal was cut. The brass often shows tarnish faster than the metal does. This tarnish can by clean away very easily with our soft non-abrasive blue polishing cloths available in our shop (please do not use polishing cloths over gemstones. They can become discoloured by the polishing compound in the cloth). Please do not use silver dips or other chemicals on our gold filled jewelry as this can damage the finish of the gold layer.
